An explosion of flavors at the Teatre de Roses with the presentation of the tapas of the tenth edition of the Ruta de les Tapas
The Municipal Theatre was the setting this morning for the presentation of the tapas that restaurants, bars and pastry shops in the municipality will offer during the celebration of the Roses Tapas Route and DO Empordà wine, which this 2026 reaches its tenth anniversary. The councilor for Economic Promotion and Tourism of Roses, Fèlix Llorens, presented this year's novelties and thanked, once again, the establishments for their involvement and commitment in this initiative.
As every year, the discovery of the dishes devised by the restaurateurs of Roses has generated great anticipation. The exhibition of the tapas on the large table set up on the stage of the theater, has offered those present a magnificent display of colors, smells and textures. In total, 85 creations that travel from traditional tapas adapted to new times, to more innovative proposals, and where you can find recipes for fish and seafood, meat, rice, eggs, pasta, fusion cuisine, international specialties... without forgetting the desserts to end the meals with a sweet taste.
The price of each tapa, which includes a "zurito" of wine or water, remains at €3.5 this year.
With the participation of 19 wineries from the DO Empordà
As an added value, all the tapas are marinated with wines, grenaches, muscats and sparkling wines from DO Empordà wineries. This year, there are 19 wineries that have wanted to contribute to the wine and food experience: Empordàlia, Celler Pere Guardiola, Bodega Trobat, Viticultors Espelt, La vinyeta, Cooperativa Agrícola Garriguella, AV Bodeguers, Vins i Cavas Perelada, Celler Pujol Cargol, Alregi, Celler Marià Pagès, Celler Arché Pagés, Celler Espolla, Mas Llunes, Grup Oliveda Vins, Oliver Conti, Covica Empordà, Maset Plana and Celler Mas Pòlit.
10th anniversary material
During the presentation ceremony held this morning, the restaurateurs received two aprons per establishment, badges and coasters commemorating the 10th anniversary of the Route as a gift. The participants wore the aprons when taking the traditional family photo, at the end of the presentation ceremony in the theater.
Awards for the best cover and the audience
As in previous editions, the audience will be able to participate (through a ballot or via app) in the contest to choose the best tapa of the campaign. To be eligible for the prizes, you must taste 9 different tapas and vote for your favorite tapa. Among all participants, 5 prizes will be drawn consisting of a 'Tapes Passport', a nominal voucher that will allow its holder to enjoy all the tapas of the 2027 edition of the Route for free. In addition to the winner by popular vote, a professional jury will also vote for their winning tapa.
Mailboxes on the street to deposit ballots for better tapas
A new feature this year is the use of paper ballots. Ballots will no longer be placed in the ballot boxes placed in the establishments themselves, which used to take up space on counters or tables, but in any of the 10 mailboxes installed on the public road, at strategic points along the Route, so that everyone can easily find them along the route.
On the 13th and 14th, light show 'The Soul of the Sea'
The Economic Promotion Area is incorporating a new attraction that will complete the gastronomic and wine offer of the Route. It is a light and sound show that under the name 'L'ànima del mar', and based on rays of light and projections, will offer the public a show created especially for the occasion, with images that will highlight the maritime environment of Roses, the world of fishing and its local product.
The projections will be made over the sea, between the two breakwaters of the Riera Ginjolers. The recommended place for viewing is the esplanade at the end of the Ginjolers boulevard, where the Ziggurat sculpture is located. It can be seen between 8:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m., both Friday and Saturday, with passes every 30 minutes.
In case of bad weather, the show will be moved to March 20th and 21st.
An app with geolocation so you don't miss anything on the Route
La Ruta continues to offer the mobile application that allows the attending public to quickly and intuitively have all the information necessary to enjoy the experience to the fullest: list of establishments with geolocation, opening hours, photographs of each tapa, adapted establishments, etc. In addition, it also offers digital voting for the best tapas thanks to QR technology. The app is available in the different stores for both Android and iOS systems.
