Nits de Circ reaches its sixth edition with a show that will bring the best flying trapeze artists in the world to Roses
Roses is once again hosting the Nits de Circ festival for another summer, which will bring the world's leading circus figures to the Ciutadella. A total of six performances will be held, from Tuesday 18 August to Sunday 23 August, featuring spectacular acrobatics, juggling and balancing acts under the stars by 29 international artists. Tickets are now on sale.
Taking advantage of the annual break that some of the largest traveling circuses take in the middle of their tour, Circus Arts Foundation, proposes a show that brings together under the same open-air arena a selection of the main figures of the world's great circuses . The headliners of prestigious circuses such as Arlette Gruss, Bouglione, Knie or Krone will occupy the arena under the stars.
This afternoon, the councilor for Economic Promotion and Tourism, Fèlix Llorens, and the director of Nits de Circ and president of the Circus Arts Foundation, Genís Matasbosch, presented this year's programming.
The show that Nits de Circ has programmed for this summer will visit the venues of Roses, Besalú and, for the first time, Palamós, breaking its record of participants on the rink, with 29 international artists arriving from 8 countries: Chilean jugglers, American flying trapeze artists, Austrian tightrope walkers, Portuguese clowns and Hungarian aerial acrobats, among others.
The highlight will be the participation of the group of American trapeze artists Flying Caballero, recently awarded first prize at the prestigious Monte-Carlo Circus Festival : unique in the world and in history in offering 3 quadruple somersaults.
Nits de Circ takes place in a complete circus but without a roof, where aerial acrobats fly under the stars, equipped with a circular stand with a concentric track that offers individual numbered seats for more than a thousand spectators in each of the performances,
The experience will start every night at 8pm with the opening of a Village with musical entertainment by the Paris Circus Orchestra and with the gastronomic offer of 4 food trucks. The show, lasting 90 minutes without intermission, will begin at 9.30pm with sunset. The 1,300 tickets for each of the 15 performances, which range -depending on the seat category- between €18 and €45, can be purchased in 3 ways:
