The Catalan Association of Sporting and Tourist Ports (Ports of Catalonia-ACPET) has elected Raimon Roca Roig as its new president, taking over from Albert Bertran, who is leaving the position after almost eight years. Roca, who is also managing director of the Club Nàutic l'Escala, was appointed unanimously during the Ordinary and Extraordinary General Assembly held on Thursday, October 9 at the Marina Port Vell Barcelona facilities.

During the Assembly, the first vice-president was also elected, a position that Nicolás González will hold, replacing Raimon Roca. The new secretary will be Lourdes Aran and Domènec Gómez has been re-elected as treasurer.

Roca has made a first sketch of what will be the path to continue the good work carried out so far by the outgoing president. The main pillar of the new mandate will be the composition of a new, strong and professional team, to reinforce the objectives of Ports de Catalunya-ACPET, giving greater prominence to its manager to make the day-to-day work of the Association more efficient.

Raimon Roca faces the new presidency of Ports de Catalunya-ACPET with extensive experience in the nautical sector. With almost 20 years at the helm of CN l'Escala, he studied Business Management and Administration at IQS Barcelona. He has been first vice-president of Ports de Catalunya-ACPET for the last eight years, a member of the Board of Directors of CEACNA for four years, as well as a member of the Advisory Council of the Costa Brava Tourism Board since 2014. On the more sporting side, Roca has been part of national and pre-Olympic sailing teams in the Europe and 470 classes, respectively, between 1996 and 1999.

The Catalan Association of Sporting and Tourist Ports (Ports of Catalonia-ACPET) includes 47 marinas out of the 53 existing throughout Catalonia, from the Costa Daurada and Terres de l'Ebre, passing through the Costa de Barcelona to the Costa Brava. The Association works to identify the common interests of its associated ports and clubs and to defend and develop them, which has allowed it to unify and improve the quality of service provision to all Catalan marinas.
