Roses was yesterday, Sunday 31 May, the starting point of the Transpyr Coast to Coast 2026, bringing together hundreds of cyclists who began the challenge of crossing the Pyrenees. The streets of the town were bustling with activity from the first hour, on a day marked by the excitement and spectacular image of the great international caravan leaving behind the blue of the Mediterranean.

A showcase of active tourism and Empordà identity

The departure from Roses represents a unique opportunity for the municipality to establish itself as a leading area in active and cycling tourism. The event projects an image of Roses as a versatile destination, capable of combining coastal tourism with the most demanding adventure sports. What participants see when they begin their journey is a vibrant and welcoming municipality that serves as a perfect link between the Costa Brava and the first landscapes of the Girona Pyrenees.

 

An international embassy

With a cycling caravan where 60% of the cyclists come from 30 different countries, Roses is positioned as a global attraction. These hundreds of participants project to their places of origin the image of an open, sporting municipality with first-class organizational capacity. The visual impact of the departure from the Port of Roses is the best international presentation letter for the territory.
