Remember Carnaval: a trip to the 80s and 90s of the Roses Carnival

News | 10/02/2026

The Roses Carnival once again opens its doors to memory with the exhibition “Remember Carnival: images from the 80s and 90s”, a visual journey that allows us to relive how this iconic festival was lived in two key decades for its consolidation and expansion. It can be seen from February 12 to March 15 at Ca l'Anita.

The exhibition presents a selection of photographs that capture the evolution of Carnival: from black and white to color, from the first costumes to the most emblematic groups. The images reflect not only the party, but also the active participation of the residents, entities and associations, the true protagonists who have made this tradition grow.

"As I've been saying these days, the Carnival of Roses cannot be explained, it has to be experienced. With this exhibition, what we wanted to do is for the Rosincs and Rosinques to be able to relive those years of Carnival while they are enjoying the exhibition." Points out the Councilor for Culture and Festivities, Sílvia Ripoll.

In addition to the images, the exhibition includes two audiovisuals that transport visitors directly to the Carnival parades: the morning parade of Sunday, February 17, 1980 and the night parade of Friday, February 19, 1993 , offering sound, movement and context to create an immersive and unique experience.

As a complement, a special magazine has been published with the most outstanding images of the exhibition , which can be found in the exhibition hall, at Ca l'Anita , at the Tourist Office , at the Citizen Attention Service and at the Municipal Library , in order to preserve a tangible memory of the Carnival of the 80s and 90s.

Remember Carnaval” is a tribute to all the people who have made it possible for the Roses Carnival to become today an emblematic festival and a meeting point for the community. It is an opportunity to remember, share and transmit the energy and passion of a tradition that is part of the cultural and emotional heritage of the municipality.

The exhibition will open on Thursday, February 12, at 8:30 p.m. It can be visited until March 15, Monday to Sunday, from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
